>> Methodology... We adopt theories from current journal based research, test them, analyse and explain our experiences, and eventually come to a consensus of what works with each individual, creating a client profile of training trends. For example, most books written on the subject of conditioning for sport would advocate a cool down process consisting of a 5 min jog down with a programme of static stretching to flush out lactic acid and prevent muscle staleness in order to recover within 12-16hrs, to enable further training to recommence. Current research disagrees in part with this application in that static stretching only causes further microscopic tears and promotes (DOMS) Delayed Onset of Muscle Soreness. Having worked with literally hundreds of clients on this exact area of training, we are able to apply theory, experiment and disregard theory, because it’s what works for each of our clients which matters, not sticking to one book, one author, one theory and one mindset. From analysing the best skiers in the world, we can clearly see what works for our sport. From equipment and technique to recovery methods, part of our methodology is to analyse and collate information from the best: scrutinising World Cup athletes and their training regimes, in search of understanding and consolidating what it takes to be at the top of the pile. Our methodology is also based around creating self awareness and promoting training education. Over time, each individual will rely less on following set training plans, set training schedules and relying on external feedback for results. We believe in educating our clients to become self sufficient at training for their chosen disciplines, be it training for a Giant Slalom race or developing leg speed for bumps, the big picture is, the more an individual takes ownership over their own training, the more likely they are to stay focused, motivated and design a programme which get them to where they want to be, with the know how to get there. Through meticulous logging of information, we aim to collate personal profiles of everything which affects fitness and the mental ability to perform.
